crank that

YOU!

Dam soulja boy. So freaking irritating yet such a catchy pimpin' feel to it. If you like Crank That by Soulja Boy as much as I did, this might be quite interesting.

Poetry will never be the same again.

Santa was a little gracious this christmas :D

all i want for christmas is you

Woah. It's December already and I'm really unprepared for what's ahead of me. Got a dilemma of applications to different unis which is kinda holding me back.. UTAR.. SEGi.. Notts. Anyways, it's just these last moments of 2007 that are quite a headache for me. I mean, there's applications to be settled, friends back from everywhere who're bumming, Standard Chartered's 8 hours to fit in, Faith Quake, trips and finally New Year's Eve (NYE) celebrations. Speaking of NYE celebrations.. here's some parties you should be at before this year ends!

MidZone Countdown 2008
Venue: The Boulevard, Mid Valley City
Date: 31st December 2007
Gates Open: 7.00pm

Party Time: 9.00pm onwards

DJs Line-up:
DJ Stoneface & Terminal (Euphonic Germany)

DJ Matthew White (Hungary)
DJ Gabriel (Malaysia)
Jungle Jerry (Malaysia)
DJ Nesh (Malaysia)
DJ Rowan (Malaysia)
and also the THE MALAYSIAN DHOL FEDERATION
..
Tickets: www.ticketpro.com.my / 03 – 7880 7999

Not forgetting the parties happening up north in Penang..

And also parties from East Malaysia!

Things just get better or so I hear, but this year all I've seen are prices hiking up like mad - especially rave party tickets. Not like we need flour to dance at a rave or anything.. it's TALCUM we use. Not flour. Anyways, word is that a party @ the sea will be coming soon.. fortnightly or weekly I forgot but all I know is it commences in mid-January next year.

So where will you be this NYE?

dancefloor welfare

Need I say more? It's actually interesting to know that dancing could be an act of charity. The only thing closest to that of its kind would probably be clean clubbing movements that were going on in Atmosphere way back some time ago. It's great to see movements like these that are actually constructive, instead of late friday-saturday nights out with shake-yo-ass-on-the-dance-floor-when-that's-actually-not-dancing events.

No offense to clubbers, none at all. Anyways, whether you dance or not, this is a great opportunity to lend a hand to the charity bodies and have fun at the same time. Either sign up as a dancer, a moraler (I believe it should be called a supporter) or some other dude.. I don't organise this, but I definitely support it from the bottom of my heart!

If it could save a life, would you dance?

By reading that you should have wasted one minute of your life! Hah! Yes I know how lame and desperate I am to attempt to entertain my readers. Nevertheless, here's another photoless update coming your way!

Last Sat was camp review, which was a week after Usaha Camp '07. Was pretty much stoning through the review.. I mean what can I say right.. "Yup the food was good. Morning inspection was awesome, if I were a junior I'd laugh my socks off and get sent outside the camp and keep laughing as a punishment."

But seriously it brings back memories, especially the return of yaoknowwho.. Anyways, moving on as it drew closer to the much anticipated event of the day - Flyniver2ary! (so cool right use the 2 as S, if I sold this idea to fly.fm probably could've bagged lotta cash la!)

All geared up in my Hitz.FM cap and Hitz.FM wristband and ready to rock! (I'm serious about the Hitz.FM merchandise) Met up with Jinhao, Chris, Ed, Yit Meng, Vincent, Sapawi, John and some old school mates.. and then met up with RyanB and 7 Sparkz!

Maybe that sentence sounded like vietnamese or finnish to you but just for your info, this is 7 Sparkz (as shown below)

Uber awesome poppers.. anyways, once again, Bass Agents hit us so hard we had to get moving.. this time it was Ganjaguru and Didjital (yep Ganja's back for good) it just kept getting better... it's one of those mixsets compiling probably few of the best tracks ever played. Superstar DJ, Annihilating Rhythm, Harder Better Faster Stronger (hardstyle mix), Nobody Likes The Record That I Play.. it was a lot of good stuff shoved into 30 minutes.. though bluddy fly.fm people interrupted halfway through..

That's all till today.. and I'm suppose to run through my uni app for UTAR.. better get started then..

1 more day till my hoodie!

like a black winter

Uber delay and I owe it all to you Streamyx! Bleh. But you can put the blame on me, you can put the blame on meee. Yeah my bad, since Malacca I went to Penang and my hometown.. been rather caught up with life, but thank God for helping me make time for everything. Chronologically.. left around 10 in the morning to pick up Andrew from One Utama new wing taxi stand.

the FitnessFirst punya bag is mine.. a tad too much for one night only aye?

Anyways, before leaving KL I pledged not to speed on the highway, mom told me to anyway. Besides, I'm still a P, better to be safe than to bribe.. Leaving around 10 or so, in less than an hour we we're already at Seremban (which is rather close to Malacca already). Driving was rather interesting though Edmund was resting to get in shape for the night. Some mad Myvi overtook me (not in a glimpse so I actually saw the driver), and it was this girl driving it.

Fyi, we were going around 150 km/h? So if she overtook me that would mean >150km/h X.X

Girl + speeding + 3 other friends in the car + P sticker = Definitely going for R5.

I'm no maths genius but assuming does wonders, which actually led me to chase them (literally). And while all these thoughts were running through my head, some malay dude driving a Savvy overtook us. Us guys don't have ego problems but if a 1.6cc vehicle that I'm driving is overtaken by a 1.3 Savvy that was probably falling apart for overtaking me.. That's humiliation aye.

Eventually overtook them thanks to morale support from Andrew and Chris who were actually up and excited while Edmund slept (maybe they were afraid I was gonna crash?). Anyways, after all the hoo haa we eventually got pwned by a BMW 7 series so whatever =.= I owe it to the Savvy as well as the Myvi girl who made it possible for us to reach Malacca in 1 hour 30 mins =D It was a perfect time to check-in and even bum around town before the evening.

Chris punya sis - Michelle actually helped us to book the place we were staying in.. it looks pretty cosy really.

Dropped our luggage off in our room and after some bumming, we left to look for lunch. As cliche as it may sound, we had chicken rice balls for lunch (YESLA EVERYONE WHO GOES THERE EATS THIS!). It's actually one of the most stomach-filling delicacies from Malacca.. everything else is expensive. i.e satay.

Chung Wah. It's a corner lot, freaking crowded for some weird reason.
(though some Malacca local told me it sucks =.=)

Mom I just arrived in Malacca, safe and sound.
No, I didn't speed :) we're staying at Baba House, now eating.
O that's Andrew next to me btw.

of chicken and rice balls. Onigiri?

The weather was just disastrous.. you could take 5 baths and still feel hot! On a day like this... there's a few ways to solve the problem. If you can't stand the heat...

cendol yo!

rather ticked off with the heat as you can see..

This is Edmund. He has a cool DSLR =D
Thanks for the pictures Ed.

If you can't stand the heat..

just take a leak la. (leak, leek however you spell it..)

though some may opt to buang air besar. (literally)

We were full, lazy, tired and a lil sweaty but nevertheless in high spirits to leave for A'Famosa in the afternoon to get our re-entry passes, cuz it'll definitely be a long queue to enter at night..

it was Malaysian soccer on TV le.. quite funny stuff heh.

Yay tickets! (which I eventually lost which made me unable to claim my event-only R5 TAG THINGY RAAWRRRR!)

Anyways I'm glad I brought home the memories, which is definitely worth more than that stupid tag XP Being tourists we weren't aware of the mad jam in town, which actually made a 45 minutes trip to Famosa seem like forever..

Eventually reached town at 6 in the evening, where we had to rush for lunch in Mahkota Parade since we needed to stock up on water and food as well. I had some Pattaya with daging masak merah, which was so awesome I ordered extra daging.. Pretty awesome for a food court meal if you ask me.. The others had sizzling stuff and Andrew ate kuay teow thng.

That piece of meat (that I spat) was uber rare just so you know.

After dinner, met up wit Jinhao outside stadhuys and we zoomed to Famosa, this time we actually reached in 45 minutes.

"WHO THE )@#(!#(@+!@(# WAS DRIVING JUST NOW? DAM GANGSTER WEI" - Jinhao (note this is coming from a guy driving a CRV who wouldn't catchup XP kiddin la Jin..)

Re-entry rocks doesn't it? :)

Godskitchen arena =D we were SOOOO looking forward to it, till we saw the mud. The music was pretty potong stim actually, everytime Johan and SVD had it really pumped up they'd just kill it with some tech-trance bass.. zzz wasted all those uplifting melodies..

Andrew rocking.

I still remember my 1st rave like it was yesterday =)
(It's Andrew's 1st at R5)

Andrew, youknowwho, Chris and Edmund.

Jinhao sandwiched by Chris and yours truly punya.

LOL. His expression perfectly defines the music before Marcel Woods came on.

Some funky mist shower.. Dunno why they put it.. it wasn't THAT hot anyway.

I'd say the rave actually really started when BAXX topped the decks. I felt something when their 1st song came on. Didn't know what it was but their apperance was definitely significant (or maybe I was expecting them already..) Either way, it was a heckuva night since... with their new track as promised Black Winter and the infectious FTS which really got all of us down on the floor, mud, floor, i mean, whatever.

Proteus came on after BAXX and kicked off with an uber uplifting happyhardcore track which left the shufflers fidgeting and having trouble keeping up with the increased bpm. It was an awesome night but all good things come to an end aye? So we left for home and thank God for the raisin bread which was really essential to recover and drive back to Baba's.

Yes that's me in the maroon sleeping bag.

We packed and left around noon. Michelle brought us to some Tangkak Beef Noodles in town before leaving Malacca, which was daymmmmm goood.

BEEF NOODLES FTW =X

lol dam random.

Malacca Mudfest 2007

Yes this is the place to be this October 07! With live acts from 6 different arenas, Marcel Woods, Sander Van Doorn, Johan Gielen, Bass Agents and Proteus rocking up the Godskitchen arena!

It was the perfect lineup yet the worst venue. Ever.

Imagine the most anticipated rave, with really awesome DJs, backed up with a solid brand - Recharge, hosting an event in a muddy construction site?! The only drier path to walk on was the construction site roads which is made up of loads of pebbles. The rest was grass, dirt, sand and mud.

Mud.

Mud.

Mud.

Mud.

Mud.

Mud.

Mud.

Sludge.

Ooh! Super hot girl in a nurse outfit!

And the ravers! Here's a preview of it.

Any brown colour substance found in the video could be and most probably is mud.

untitled

I know it takes more than apology to make up to you guys who were always there whenever I had an update. Honestly, thanks a lot if you still read. There are some things I need to tell certain people.

To photo junkies - sorry, this post is not going to have any photos, my camera really died, now it can't even take a simple video of me shuffling (too many frames per second i suppose).

To ardent readers - there's not going to be any funky reviews, philosophical talks here for the time being. Just needed to let you guys know how life has been.

To the adverts - sorry my blog isn't well maintained sufficiently for promotional usage.

To myself - YOU KNOW THE PROBLEMS, NOW DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. (you can start by getting the camera fixed)

To do this systematically..

last week - (and/or the week before that) finally reduced my working hours with StandChart to 1 day a week =D life has never been better. Met up with Jason, Lynn, Kai Xin, Sumi, Marc and Alvin.. it was pretty awesome.. a really nice stroll down memory lane. Looking at those form 3-5 pictures just makes me laugh..

this week - Hari Raya just passed by and left, seriously there was no ramadhan spirit in me at all.. maybe because I had lots of errands to run while mom was outstation.. then again I hope they're still selling lemang..

next week - apparently there's an event at Sri Sedaya.. shuffling competition held at a school lolz.. then there's Speedzone Tour held in Zouk.. more importantly i'm looking forward to the 27th, Revelation 5 Global Gathering!! =D as well as my paycheque that's past due for 2 months =.=

some time within these weeks..

i was bored at one point, but I needed to voice out because recently I've seen people wearing hoodies to all the wrong places.. Practically a hoodie should be worn only in cold places.. some people overlook the practical and wear it for.. (you people should know better why you wear it to stuffy and humid places). Anyways, what's your take on this? leave a comment on the vid, or maybe here =D

Oh yah, Klang Gates! check out Ray Mun's blog for more info... the view is just splendid..

faith

Yay finally done with product training... though honestly I still don't know most of the products well enough as the back of my hand... but yeah just thought I'd give a shout out to our awesome trainer, Tracy! Will post the pictures soon (hopefully). Anyways, it was a really great learning experience going through product training. I would say it wasn't just about knowing the products.. there were other subjects to focus on i.e. compliance tests.. verification.. and customer care..

Yet I learned a really important thing. Okay I'll keep this one short, I promise. Last Wednesday, I wasn't feeling too well. Could've been something I ate, could've been the late nights and endless syllabus of products to learn up, could've been the food... just could've been anything that caused my sore throat. Yes it's sore throat again =.= those who know me well enough should know.. So back from Technology Park Malaysia, where training was held, I reached home with a really bad (like headache+almost flu+ sore throat) sore throat.

Here's the highlights. Was driving home with Jack in the front passenger seat and thank God for the CD he brought, by Pastor Joseph Prince of NCC (New Creation Church, Singapore), it was a topic on Health and Wealth. Driving home with the jam in front of your eyes and the endless aching in your head with the sore throat building up.. I was seriously about to blow up (obviously I didn't).

So listen.. listen.. listen.. then Ps Prince was talking about communion and the power of it.. obviously I knew what communion was.. a ritual la! He compared the roasted lamb eaten on the night of the passover with what Jesus gave his disciples during the last supper. And the next day, of all the diseased, weary and burdened Jews who having been serving the Egyptians for 400 years without a single pay who ate the lamb, none were feeble. NONE!

I dropped Jack off home.. and as I was making my way home, Ps Prince's message was done, and it was the audio recording of the holy communion. I prayed and just took a step of faith. As though I was part of the congregation.. and as Ps Prince was saying "You can't take communion if you're not a believer, because it is through faith believing in what Christ has done for us on the cross that makes this not just any ordinary bread and wine." I didn't have food with me.. I made my own representations of bread and wine.. and just allow the Holy Spirit to lead through communion..

The anointing and the peace was just verbally indescribable... usually I'd have bad headaches as in reALLLLY bad kind of headaches when I get sore throat, flu and almost-fever diseases.. but decided to just rely on what I heard from the CD.. give it a shot and went to sleep.

Next day I tell you.. seriously.. I really give all the glory to God for His healing powers.. it's the first time in my life i ever felt so good after the 1st day of sore throat! I wasn't 100% healed, but it definitely felt like I wasn't even sick in the first place! I mean if you got the sore throat today, tomorrow is sure to be a living madness! Flu and fever sure kick in one don't lie to me k! Unless your sore throat not severe like minela.. anyways.. kind of my testimony about the power of the Word of God, faith and communion..

Jack, thanks a lot for the CD. May this be just a few wonderful things Jesus does in our lives that constantly reminds us to find joy in him and the Word =D God bless!

Transactions

are probably what will revolve around my life for the next six months or less.

If you guessed it, yeap I'll be working with a bank. SCB to be precise. No it's not Super Ci... it's NOT. OKAY.

Anyways, you may be wondering why it's not a local website.. that's for me to know and for you to find out. Rather challenging job with a fairly awesome pay, with risks involved yet it really pays off, not just financially but intellectually (gah trying to find a word that means 'experience-ally') as well.

In the mean time, Recharge a.k.a Revelation 5 Global Gathering will be happening on the 27th of October, which is next month. With Godskitchen as a highlight of the event, this is surely one not to be missed. Keep your eyes peeled, cuz I'll be updating on it =D

silvia

No I haven't been out for any events recently. Yes you could say my life is boring. Just went out yesterday to meet up with Jason, Melissa, Siew Mei and Yuhhui. It's been ages since we last met actually.. more than a year.. anyhow, pictures will be up in the next post when I do get them.

Meanwhile I've been craving and yearning, can't stop thinking.. of you...

Erm.. well not exactly you dear, but yeah I miss you too XP

Yes you SSSSiiiIllLLLlVViiAAAAA!!! Baby come back! Okay this stock Silvia may not be attractive enough.. but it's still an awesome car.. Just a little background on the S15 a.k.a. Silvia, it's often confused with the SXs from Nissan (well at least I was rather confused). Yes this is a Japanese car, with a second hand value that you European cars out there desire so much.

Right anyway the S15 was first released in Japan in 1999, strutting a horsepower of 250 from Nissan's SR20DET engine as well as a little help from a turbocharger upgrade and improved engine management. As shown in wikipedia...

My two cents - You just can't deny those awesome headlights. It's like staring into a girl with the nicest eyes you've ever seen in your life (okay maybe if the girl was Misa Campo or Leah Dizon huh)! In fact if you google this car, you'll find that the S15 is one of the most popular cars used by Japan drifters. So drift or no drift, this car doubles up as a sleek and sexy ride as well as a mean drift machine down the hills.

Silvia S15 Remix?

Came across this picture online which left me drooling (not literally). That's it for now. A bit short I know, but that's all you should know about the S15 for now (for one who hasn't driven it before, like me!). Oh right this is a tribute to all the Silvia owners out there! Cheers!

somewhere sunway

It's been quite awhile since my last rave.. Revelation 4 which ended early =.= luckily they were free tickets.. for a one hour set, BAXX vs Soul-T, which apparently was the end of the event. Anyway, this N-day (that's what it's called this year okay! I blame The Star!) since most of the apartment kakis (you know who you are) weren't around, I decided to head on to Sunway Lagoon for MyNation.

Was there uber early, had dinner at pyramid and waiting for things to get started. DJ Desire was on the decks then.

Yep she's still on the decks.

It may be just two pictures that seem the same, but trust me, she was on the decks for almost an eternity. Okay maybe Edmund and I started to get really bored. What can I say? It's not the music we dance to, the crowd isn't even a crowd yet and my food was just about to begin the digestive process.

Just a reminder the main event for the night was supposedly Cosmic Gate. DJ Phynn took over after Desire, and he's got stuff for a guy of his age. Apparently our age.. around 18-20 only.. young chap already spinning for a rave, huge future I tell you. Anyway his first track really blew us away. It was so good we spent so much time making sure it was good that we didn't dance. Wasted one sweet breakdown right there =.=

Drum Connection being one of the first few band/DJs that I've seen at a rave (my first rave at Sepang - Tiesto), had a joint performance with Phynn. It was quite good actually. Some songs were just too tribal and Safri Duo-ish.

Presenting Drum Connection from Germany!

For some reason the emcee was just having a great time introducing all the DJs - "Put your hands together for DRUM CONNECTION~~!!! PHYNN~~!! AND ME NICKY C!!" wtf like you're part of the lineup as well.. but at least he did get the crowd hyped up.. like those rave morale boosters.. always jumping on stage.. go youtube Showtek if you don't know what I mean.

People flooding in as it draws closer to the main event...

Jinhao wit his unique Shufflin.com hoodie and shirt.. bugger I want 1 also la.. And Edmund with his 'wtf where's Cosmic Gate.. wtf where's the good music..' face.

HAH bet you thought it was cosmic right!

More fireworks...

This shot is cool okay. Just minus the flash = awesome.

That's still Phynn right..?

?!

Yay Cosmic!

yay cosmic.. truthfully their set was a letdown. It had a touch of tribal in it.. sometimes it was just repetitive bass pounding.. and probably 10-15% of Trance.. sigh.

The event was supposed to end with The Thrillseekers wrapping things up, but they kicked off with another Tribal-ish-weird-ish-notsoTrance-track.. which was really disappointing for the last DJ.. I was really tired and Edmund's toes hurt like mad cuz he was dancing the whole night with slippers.

Eventually went to Syed Abu cuz we were super hungry. Makan and went home. Oh ya. Did I mention I waited more than 45 minutes just for a Nasi Goreng Kampung filled with 60% ikan billis? No you don't wanna try it. It's not fun okay. That's 45 minutes of my precious sleep you're wasting right there.

Oh ya if this doesn't feel N-day-ish enough for you, Happy Merdeka! Happy 50th Birthday Malaysia! YAaAAAaAaYyYYY. *snoozes*

PS: Anyone who wants videos of that night PM me via MSN, on MASH or anyway that you use to contact me.
