remember the cross

Recently Ps. Joshua's messages are related to family and all.. and last weekend was a family outing (damn I don't know how long it's been since we had one) for us.. It was awesomela. Incase you don't know me, trips make me very happy. Really. Had this trip with my family once just a day trip down to klang, then pd, then seremban, then back up to kajang.. dam fun la really.. words can't really describe that kind of excitement but yeaa it's seriously awesome!

Anyways, this trip was a bit different. We actually had to dig up some old books that could be exchanged for entry tickets.. yeah so now you know it's some kinda event.

For every 10 books donated, we're entitled to one entry ticket! These donated books will be given to various charity bodies.. brilliant idea wei!

I used to read a lot when I was a kid, thanks to mom and dad who began with bedtime stories.. which eventually converted me into a Blyton fanatic.. I seriously *hands down* LOVE enid blyton! last time maybe.. but there's just so much memories in these books man..

Among my favourites from Enid Blyton, the Mr. Twiddle series! :D

Though I may have been a fanatic I sure didn't have enough of Mr.Twiddles books to prove I was one.. but seriously.. those were the days.. pardon me , reminiscing a bit here..

And there's this particular book that caught my eye.. I kid you not, this MUST HAVE BEEN THE REASON I'M THE LAMO I AM TODAY.

No kidding. Blyton must've been drunk when she did this one.

These books contributed had to be in rather good condition, i.e. readable and not filled with child graffiti (moustached people and stars and scribbles). So I found another book, Princess Shee-Ra or something like that. And when I turned to THIS PAGE...

THIS WAS FREAKING SCARY WHEN I WAS STILL A KID OKAY.
LIKE WTH IS THAT THING?!?!
I'm talking bout the dark creature, not the bimbo GI joe k.

Anyways, such great times. Parents decided to eat before going to the bookfair so I had to lead the way to an old place we used to go during A-levels..

Wah sien. Was closed.. but the Toto 4D shop 3 doors down was open and FULL!
This shop sells chilli pan mee.. this is the GENUINE one k! on this street there was another imposter punye.. rip off.. how Malaysian.

Instead we settled for Ngau Kee beef ball noodles on Tengkat Tung Shin next to Alor.. And after a MADDDDD meal..

"Welcome to Readcycle airlines. If youu luckky, we take youu go beiijingg!"

"The Third Annual Overseas Chinese Book Fair"

Which is a whole lot of bollocks because half the fair was owned by popular, the rest were CDs, tongkat ali stores, samsung booths, ASIASOFT and KUNG FU WORLD WTF?!

I didn't take pictures because I was actually reading a book okay. Rather too engrossed with it.

Is it just me.. or does it look like a communist recruitment drive?

PS: Thanks Chee Hong! You got me updating again! You guys should check out my bro's blog, over HERE.

This is an image response to 'Salivation without..'

Finally. Time. Yes sorry this has been delayed. This a response to you 'Salivation without the first i'!! Anyhow, this i shall try to record this one using a new technique - the photographic voice. Cheezlangkawishuffle day 2 AND 3!

Was still at langkawi mall.. getting ready to leave the parking lot..

Heh.

Heh?

21st century radio. seriously took us almost forever to try to work it which did not happen. eventually found out langkawi had only ONE STATION, YES ONE wtf why one? Kedah so near oso can't receive meh?! the rest of it was pleasant static. oh yes, the sweet sound of static. zzzzzz.

Dad and Uncle John Varsanyi, yani for short. why is it yani for short anyway...? looks like some bouncer at zouk..

... Malaysia, piratedly asia. and it's not just the VCDs, they've stolen the colonel sanders' royalty!

nothing like the original recipe eh?

Random pre-sunset shot. Leaving Kuah.. back to suites..

Serena convoy! i don't even know who they are. Stopped by at some fruit stall on the way back.

If there's anything better than chocolate.. its alcohol AND chocolate =)

19 different liquors within bottle-shaped chocolates. they've got it all from malibu, jack daniel's, vodka, rum, gin, whiskey, martini i'm randoming now please move on chivas, henessy, sake..

Of course no trip would be complete without our OWN chocolates. Chee Hong bought some bitter chocolate. not my stuff. seriously.

JD.. JD.. MORE PLEASEEEE..

Ok enough. Behtahan adi. Went to get some snooze. Day 3. we went separate ways. Uncle Yani, Auntie Kwi Ching, Timmy and Priscilla spent their WHOLE morning at the pool. Instead, we went to this cultural village.. which was right outside the hotel, which we did not notice till our last day of stay at Berjaya. Wow =) How observant! Oh to DU people out there, I met Wei Hsuen at Langkawi! Sadly didn't cross my mind to snap photos with him.. he was about to leave when we arrived at some roadside warong anyway.. Dined at some random Jap restaurant instead..

Some people just can't stand sitting up straight.

Mom and dad! hehehe now i know where i inherited my poser-ism

Random exploration.. on the way to Holland.

?!

Ladies and gentlemen welcome to The Andaman. We hope your stay with us will be a memorable and pleasant one. It IS a majestic and awfully serene palace-like hotel.

No mom we're not allowed to bring that back.

Oho! So what do we do? Stop when they cross? Might as well have a traffic light

Leaving Holland..

On the way back.. and thought I'd leave a souvenir for Miss Canada.. XP

Upon returning to the suites, packing was in progress and eventually it was goodbye langkawi. But this trip is not complete till..

...you've climbed the eagle?

Taking off as we leave o faithful eagle, I've definitely left my footsteps here.

Salivation without the i. The first i.

WARNING: Not for the straightforwarded and feint-hearted ones. Excessively lenghty blog post ahead. May contain boredom pheromones. Continue scrolling at your own risk. What a way to welcome the james-bond-duality year (two-double-OH-seven) with a bird's eye view of the fireworks, abandoned apartments style. For pictures of the magnificent display, please visit Encik Jomi's website (shucks free advertising again. sigh.). Anyways, it has been really two months of labour and toil.. as along with the other fellow A-Levels people of HELP, i have endured, experienced and finally enjoyed after all of it. I guess the taste of freedom can be related to blogging. You spend like ages working on ONE post (cuz I doubt everyone updates everyday), and the satisfaction is just awesome. Tastes just as good as Klang Bak Kut Teh except better =)

Anyways, this is long overdue. It must be the current trend I guess, Jomi's ineedtostopoverduebloggingsyndrome. Here you go! Cheezlangkawishuffle!

CheezLangkawiShuffle - Day 1

Mm. Flight time was sometime in the afternoon. B
loody delayed it with another hour of patience. Gah.
My relatives from Kenyang (HUNGaRY) XP Laugh la.. even though not funny. Anyway, left to right : Uncle John, Auntie Kwi Ching, Priscilla and Little Timmy! (Timothy)
They've made this langkawi trip one to really remember. Oh yeah, btw my cousin sister Priscilla, she's.. Form 2 this year if converted to Malaysia
n schools, buttt... her syllabus is somewhere in between SPM and A-Levels.. that's like darn smart for a 14 year old. *hats off* Anyway Timmy is just.. Timmy! Loves to sing. He's always singing Stellar Kart's Activate.. Screamo edition. Yah he loves to scream/sing too. Bright future in the emo world son.. Auntie Kwi Ching has just been such a blessing.. her faith is like this fountain overflowing.. and it just amazes me and reminds me of how great God is =) Uncle John's not too different either.. they live such Christ-orientated lives. Life's always so easy going and filled with joy, bearing in mind that He'll settle and overcome all of it!

This is Timmy. Timmy loves to play games. Timmy is playing bounce right now on his daddy's handphone. Least he found a way to kill his free time. Current price of chivas : 55.00 per bottle 18 yr old. So away from LCC KLIA and helooo langkawi!

Lodging provided by : Berjaya Beach and Spa Resort Langkawi. Facilities are relatively okay but they cost like 300 a night. And the price increases as the distance to the beach decreases. Therefore, the price is inversely proportional to the distance of the beach. Plotting a $ x 1/d graph.Kesan pokok hijau. Green tree effect. Oh surprisingly there were monkeys near the chalets we were living in. Didn't get pics of them though, you see I'm still rather slow with the camera. Didn't do much on the first day.. but the next day was not so much bumming. Lots of travelling. Wait till you see our ride..

Cheezlangkawishuffle - Day 2

Still down with sore throat and all.. Might I introduce you to the most economical breakfast yet!
So who's the younger one? XP Just so you know I suffer from an anti-aging-syndrome thanks to baby fat =) I thank God for our ride.. you'd do the same too after sitting in one of these..I present the Nissan.. Serena! Right? Serena right? Sorry my memory for comfort cars are not much as compared to those sleek cars out there. So we had to go a distance of like from Bandar Utama to... almost Port Dickson I think. Ya that's how far you'd have to travel if you live in Berjaya cuz Kuah Town's like the other side of the earth.. ARGH. I'm sorry to those looking forward to an organised post. I'll have to continue with another post cuz blogger won't allow me to write, post pics RIGHT where i want it to be, and write again. Keep an eye on the next post..
